From busy level I trauma centers to private offices, complications in maxillofacial trauma can be challenging to manage. The goal of this plenary session is to encompass a range of complications that any OMS could encounter and methods to correct them. This session is not a show-and-tell of major maxillofacial trauma but emphasizes complications that experts in trauma have experienced and the thought processes required to solve the problem and have the desired clinical outcome.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Recognize a maxillofacial trauma complication.
  2. Describe the thought processes and planning steps in preparing for and managing a complication.
  3. Discuss the utilization of technologies to help manage and prevent complications.
