This session will delve into the nuances of dentoalveolar surgery, including the management of impacted and supernumerary teeth and collaboration with restorative and orthodontic colleagues. It will review the necessary armamentarium, procedures, challenges and common complications. The session also will address the restorative challenges posed by retained primary teeth in implant treatment planning. Additionally, orthodontic skeletal anchorage devices such as TADs and bone anchorage plates will be covered. The discussion will feature several case presentations and a multidisciplinary literature review.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:
  1. Recognize the nuances in managing complex dentoalveolar procedures.
  2. Emphasize the role of good imaging and prudent decision-making in complex dentoalveolar surgery.
  3. Describe common complications that can occur with complex dentoalveolar surgery.
