Dr. Todd Sawisch is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and the founder and surgical director of South Florida Oral & Facial Surgery, Dental Implant Center and the SAWI Institute. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology, Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and is licensed and trained to perform all levels of anesthesia.
Dr. Sawisch is originally from Michigan, where he completed his undergraduate education at Michigan State University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry, followed by a surgical residency program at University of Miami School of Medicine’s prestigious Jackson Memorial Hospital. Dr. Sawisch’s training focused on head and neck cancer, oral pathology, and reconstruction of severe facial deformities secondary to disease and facial trauma. After his residency, he completed a fellowship program through University of Texas Southwestern in Facial Cosmetic Surgery at the Willow Bend Cosmetic Surgery Center in Plano, Texas.
Today, Dr. Sawisch specializes in minimally invasive, cutting-edge techniques utilizing lasers and tissue engineering using human stem cells and growth factors in his facial cosmetic and dental implant reconstructive practice. Dr. Sawisch has been featured in live seminars and on television for his pioneering use of growth factors and stem cells with advanced bone grafting procedures to aid in dental implant reconstruction and healing with facial cosmetic surgery. He has emerged as one of the leading experts in the use of lasers and tissue engineering in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Sawisch has published articles on cosmetic skin resurfacing and several chapters in various laser dentistry and dental implant textbooks.
Having always had a passion for education, Dr. Sawisch dedicates a significant amount of his professional time to lecturing nationally and globally on topics including regenerative techniques for implant dentistry, laser surgery, and facial cosmetic surgery. He is Voluntary Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine and the head cosmetic surgery instructor and co-director for the prestigious Denver Board Review Course, teaching the latest techniques in facial cosmetic surgery to surgeons preparing for certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Sawisch also has a long history as a Key Opinion Leader for several companies in the profession.
