Collin A. Ritchie DMD, MD, Resident, University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Ritchie grew up in East Lansing, MI. He served a 2-year church mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Benin, Cotonou mission in West Africa. From his missionary service he learned to speak French. After returning home, he attended Brigham Young University and studied Physiology and Developmental Biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude. While at BYU he met and married his wife Tayla, they now have three children ages 5, 3, and 1. Following his undergraduate education, Dr. Ritchie attended Harvard School of Dental Medicine (DMD) and the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine (MD). He is currently a PGY-4 resident at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Ritchie has a special clinical and research interest in orthognathic surgery and pursues research related to the low and short medial osteotomy modification for the sagittal ramus osteotomy.
