Biosketch
Jaime Gateno, DDS, MD
Dr. Gateno is the Chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital; Professor of Clinical Surgery at Weill-Cornell Medical College, in New York; and Professor of Clinical Surgery at Houston Methodist Academic Institute.
He is also a Senior Member of the Houston Methodist Research Institute and Director of its Maxillofacial Surgical Planning Laboratory.
His main clinical interests include the correction of maxillofacial deformities. Dr. Gateno is actively engaged in research on computerized assisted surgical simulation, craniofacial distraction osteogenesis and biomechanics. He has served on the Editorial Board of two leading peer review journals, has 163 scientific publications in peer review journals, and has written 14 book chapters.
