Dr. Omar Alejandro Peña-Ruiz is a Non-Categorical Intern at the Willis-Knighton Health System Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program in Shreveport, Louisiana. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) in Monterrey, Mexico, graduating with top academic honors. Passionate about research, he is committed to advancing ongoing projects in Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in oral and maxillofacial surgery. Dr. Peña-Ruiz is also a current applicant for the upcoming U.S. OMFS residency match through the 2025 cycle.
