Jason A. Buschman DDS, MEd is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and has been practicing for 25 years. After a successful career in private practice and part time academics, Dr. Buschman transitioned into a full time academic position at Southern Illinois University School of Dentistry Medicine, then was recruited by East Carolina University to help develop a hospital dental rotation, serve on the head and neck tumor board, and provide facial trauma for their level 1 trauma center. Dr. Buschman also taught, students and residents at East Carolina School of Dental Medicine, and currently is a clinical assistant professor at The University of Florida College of Dentistry. Dr. Buschman graduated summa cum laude and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, He then obtained his Master of Education degree from Cameron University in 2013, graduating Summa Cum Laude. His clinical interests include dentoalveolar surgery, trauma, orthognathic surgery and implants. He has extensive experience in the area of hard- and soft-tissue grafting in preparation of the oral cavity for future implant placement. Academic areas of interest include team organization and preparation for office-based emergencies, treatment of patients with substance use disorders, addictionology, and pain and anxiety in dentistry.
