During the day, the lumbar spine is stressed by work demands, poor posture and leisure activities. Back pain, with or without lower extremity symptoms, can limit productivity and career longevity. This session will examine common causes of low back pain, discuss prevention strategies and explore ways to alleviate symptoms. It also will cover the role of mechanical diagnosis and treatment in classifying and addressing spinal conditions. The importance of proper posture and positioning in the production and alleviation of symptoms also will be discussed.
