Five billion people lack access to essential surgical services. This session will highlight the urgency and consequences of inaction and propose initiatives and innovations in global surgery and collaborative partnerships. Key priorities include trauma surgery, particularly the repair of maxillofacial injuries, and benign and malignant head and neck pathology, which are prevalent in low-resource areas.
