Dr. Warburton trained in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the United Kingdom and completed his training at the University of Maryland Medical Center and R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He earned his dental surgery and medical degrees from Manchester University in the United Kingdom, where he obtained numerous academic honors and awards, including the Alpha Omega Prize for Clinical Excellence. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Warburton is board-certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons (AACMFS). He completed a Clinical Research Fellowship at the National Institutes of Health, and he is a member of the American Society of Temporomandibular Joint Surgeons (ASTMJS) and he lectures nationally and internationally on the surgical management of TMJ disorders. Dr. Warburton is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland. He is the Chief of facial trauma surgery at Sinai hospital. He is also immediate past Chairman of the TMJ section of SORG North America. He is a clinical consultant for Stryker (formerly TMJ Concepts).
