Nicholas Mechas, DMD

Dr. Nicholas Mechas, DMD, is full-time faculty with the OMFS program at Carle Hospital in Illinois, and leader of the Cleft Team. He received both bachelor's and dental degree from the University of Louisville, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Next, he completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Temple Hospital in Philadelphia. Dr. Mechas then completed Cleft Lip, Cleft Palate, and Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship in Oklahoma. Dr. Mechas is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with an added certificate (CAQ) in Pediatric Craniomaxillofacial Surgery and serves on that CAQ committee. Dr. Mechas is on the membership committee for the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association and a reviewer for the Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Journal.
