Office-based surgical orthodontics include multiple procedures that are performed every day. Often, these procedures are taken for granted, but there are technical pearls and advances that can be shared and utilized. This session will review the history of surgical orthodontics as well as advances in exposure of impacted teeth, anchorage devices and miniscrew-assisted rapid palatal expansion.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants should be able to:

Describe current trends in surgical orthodontics.
Discuss tips and tricks for the ever challenging, often despised expose and bond as well as bonding materials.
Identify appropriate candidates for MARPE as well as options for appliances used.
Recognize indications for the minimally invasive TAD screws and anchorage plates for orthodontic collaboration and intervention for optimal patient management.
