Dr. Likith V. Reddy serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry and Division Chief at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. With dual doctoral degrees (DDS from Case Western Reserve University and MD from UT Southwestern Medical Center), Dr. Reddy completed his surgical training at UT Southwestern Medical Center and Parkland Memorial Hospital. He is board certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Reddy's research focuses on translating advanced technologies into clinical practice. As co-investigator on an NIDCR-funded study (pending $2.2 million grant), he is developing 3D printable bone repair materials from novel bioinks and stem cell extracellular matrix factors. His work on orbital fracture analysis using artificial intelligence has secured over $220,000 in funding from NIDCR, AOCMF, and the OMS Foundation. Dr. Reddy has mentored NSF Innovation Corps projects for medical technology commercialization and developed automated TMJ rehabilitative devices and minimally invasive surgical systems. His publication record includes over 80 peer-reviewed articles and numerous textbook chapters. Dr. Reddy serves as a scientific reviewer for multiple journals and grant agencies, including PCORI and the Department of Defense CDMRP.
Dr. Reddy's international contributions include volunteer work with the GSR Craniofacial Institute in India, facial trauma initiatives in Egypt, and service with Mercy Ships in Africa. He has established clinical partnerships that have expanded trauma care capabilities at multiple institutions.Through his integration of surgical expertise, scientific inquiry, and educational leadership, Dr. Reddy continues to advance oral and maxillofacial surgery while preparing the next generation of surgeon-scientists to meet evolving challenges in patient care and research.
